How does Love INC work?
- Level One: The Clearinghouse
Clients contacting the Love INC clearinghouse go through a four step process to connect them with the best resources available. These steps are Need Analysis, Verification, Referral, and Follow-up.
When a client first calls into the clearinghouse they are greeted by a caring and compassionate volunteer who will listen to their story and ask questions to understand the bigger picture. At the end of this initial phone call, clients will be given a timeframe of when they can expect a return call.
Next, any information relevant to helping the individual is verified through phone calls to appropriate sources. The goals of the verification process are to build accountability by confirming the information given in the intake, ensuring the accuracy of the information given, assessing the legitimacy of the need, learning more about the extent of the need, and discovering any deeper issues fueling the crisis.
Clients are then connected with the best resources in the community to meet their specific needs. Clients may be referred to multiple ministries, agencies, and individuals during this step.
After the client’s needs have been met, a volunteer from Love INC will follow-up with both the client and ministry, organization, or volunteer that provided the assistance. A visit from a local pastor or church volunteer is also offered. After this four step process is complete and clients have received help, their information is securely stored and accessible should they call in for assistance again in the future.
